How do I pause my membership?
To pause your membership, please submit our "suspension" form. Someone from our team will be in touch shortly to confirm that your request has been processed.
What’s the difference between suspending and terminating my membership?
Suspending (or "freezing") is a temporary pause of your membership, which will allow you to preserve your current rate and waive any membership reactivation fee.
Terminating your membership would cancel the current terms of your membership, so if you plan on returning later on, it would be under a new membership agreement.
In either case, you’d still have access to any account credit remaining on your account.
Standard membership suspensions carry a small fee of $10 per month. Requests for suspensions must be submitted in writing (either through the form above or by emailing here) at least 15 days prior to your next billing date. We try to be as flexible and accommodating as possible, but this is the only way to guarantee requests will be processed in advance of billing.
In the event of a qualifying exception (please visit your membership agreement for the full list), we can waive your suspension fee. Documentation may be required.
What about suspensions in response to COVID-19?
Members who were suspended prior to October 13, 2020 will be notified in the event that they are subject to suspension fees. All suspensions starting on or after October 13, 2020 will cost $10 per month.
In the event you cannot visit the facility for health or wellness reasons, we offer the option of instant suspensions. Notify us as soon as you can if you have a health concern and we will apply your suspension starting the day of your notice. If the suspension is processed after billing runs, any dues collected will be preserved for you as account credit.
To be eligible for an instant suspension, we just ask for documentation from a medical professional that you've been advised to quarantine within 3 days of your request. Normal suspension fees apply.
What if BKB has to close again?
In the event of a forced shutdown, we will process suspensions automatically as of the date and time of the forced closure. We will also automatically reactivate memberships as of the date and time the facility is permitted to open.
