BKB Policy
Moving forward we will have to no longer allow our dogs unless they are service animals into the gym.
Unfortunately, we have recently had more than one instance where dogs in the gym have disrupted member experience, or worse, affected risk management materially.
Based on the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for title II & III, A service animal is a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability. For the safety of our facility and our community, if your dog does not fall into this category, we kindly ask that you leave your dog home. A service animal must be under the control of its handler. Under the ADA, service animals must be harnessed, leashed, or tethered, unless the individual’s disability prevents using these devices or these devices interfere with the service animal's safe, effective performance of tasks. In that case, the individual must maintain control of the animal through voice, signal, or other effective controls.
